My Imagery / My Language…..What is it all about?

Summer 2025

In recent years I have been captivated with including vessels and flowers in my work.  Since I can remember I have been a collector of artistic containers, being attracted to their architectural form, mystery, maker, and reverence for culture. They provide the anchor for my paintings. With their magical and temporal beauty flowers have always reminded me of our fragility and capacity to express ourselves.  They lift me up during our long winters and add a level of refinement and civility to smooth over life’s chaotic rhythms.

I enjoy incorporating this repetitive symbology using stylistic interpretations that often draw on my travels, particularly my childhood in Bangkok and time spent in Europe.  What an “ah-ha” to see these influences seep in through my art.

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
